Collect your photo and film items together (prints, slides, films) that you want transferring to digital. The items do not need to be in any particular order - unless you specifically want the items transferred in a particular order. We are unable to sort the items for you once they arrive, as we simply don't know who the people are or what the occasions happen to be.
We don't need to know the exact quantity, so if you have a lot of films or slides just a rough estimate will help us to schedule the project and will give you an idea on the expected cost.
We can scan a mixture of films, slides and photos so there is no need to separate out your items, they can all be included in the same package.
If you want to see how much a digital transfer would be, then click the Order Now button in the top menu. Then simply select the film type you wish to transfer. Select the Image Size and Finish processing options you wish to use and add them to your quote. We don't need to know the exact quantity at this stage, just a rough number will give you a quotation.
From the quotation page, you can add more film types if you have a range of film types to transfer and you can also select a range of accessories and professional options if you wish.
Once everything is in your quotation you can either place the order or save it for use at a later date by clicking the save icon. It can be retrieved and converted into an order at a later date should you wish to go proceed with our services.
To place the order click the Submit Order button from the quotation page and the order will be placed into your online account. Confirmation will be displayed on the screen and a confirmation email summary will also be sent to you.
If you don't want to order online you can simply print out the quotation and include it in your shipped order to us, or you can download a paper order form to complete and include in your package.
If you find any of this too difficult, feel free to call us, or simply write a note with your contact details and send everything to us.
Once you are ready to send everything to us, carefully pack everything into a padded envelope or suitable box, making sure any voids are filled with suitable packing material to avoid items moving around during transit. Slides can be packaged loose, in carousels, or boxes, it doesn't matter to us. If you have a large number of slide carousels it might be easier to remove the slides from the carousel for shipping. Simply take them out in the order you want them scanned and secure them together with a double wrapped elastic band to maintain the order while shipping.
Include your order number, (or full contact details if you haven't placed an online order) in the package. Send the items to us at the address at the bottom of the page, a handy Adobe PDF address label can also be found and printed on the contact page. Attach the shipping label and also your return address in case of any problems.
If you have selected our courier collection service, simply let us know when and from where the package can be collected along with a rough estimate of the dimensions and weight of the box. We will send you a confirmation email once the courier collection is booked.
If you are sending items by Royal Mail, we suggest using their Recorded or Special Delivery tracked and signed for services.
Once we receive your items we review the contents and confirm receipt by email. We prepare your items for transfer by placing your items in clearly labelled boxes. They are then held in the processing queue until we are ready to process them.
Once scanning commences, your order status is updated to reflect the fact we have started to process your order
Each scanned image is sequentially numbered and placed within a folder on our server. Subfolders are created for each box or container if requested, the folder is either named as described on the container or sequentially numbered so you can identify the images at a later date.
Once your order is completed we check the number of items scanned against the quantity ordered, adjusting the quantities of your order where necessary.
If you selected the Manual service we check each image in Adobe Photoshop, repairing any minor faults and adjust any problematic colour or exposure scans.
Any professional options selected will be taken into account during the scanning and processing phases.
The images are then converted to the format you requested, or standard JPG format if no special request has been made. Any additional formats you requested such as Tiff or "Digital photo frame ready" are then created. Everything is then copied onto the media you requested.
We inform you once your order is completed, so that you can arrange for payment to be made. Credit cards, PayPal, Google Checkout and direct bank transfer are all accepted methods of payment. We can also take payment over the telephone if required.
Your items are packaged ready for despatch, using any original boxes where possible to cut down on waste materials, though new padded bags are generally used for smaller orders
Once payment has been made we ship your items using the delivery service you selected when you placed your order. Royal Mail 1st class recorded post is our standard method of despatch.
We inform you of the shipping date and of any associated tracking references so that you can track delivery of your item.
Once you receive your items, either via Royal Mail or a courier service all you have to do is insert the data CD or DVD into your PC or Mac to see the photos.
If you requested a DVD Slideshow, simply insert the DVD slideshow disk into your DVD player then sit back and see your old and forgotten images come to life!
